Trevor Barton MBE spoke at the public hearing in Manchester organised by the Boundary Commission for England. Trevor presented our objections to the initial Boundary Commission proposals.
The people of Leigh are faced with the prospect that civil servants down in London are ready to create a new constituency which although called Leigh will end up with Leigh Town Hall being in another constituency. Leigh Library will not be in Leigh nor will Pennington Flash.
Trevor has also started an e-petition and if it attracts more than 100,000 signatories, then at least there would be a debate in Parliament on the issue. You can sign the petition to signal your support.
